9:30 p.m. May 3rd. It's over for 2007-2008.
It's strange. I expected to be more upset when the habs season finally came to an end but for some reason I'm not. I mean I'm sad that I have no more hockey to watch until October but I think it's because I'm just so ridiculously proud of what this team accomplished this year. I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined that we would be ending the regular season in first place or that we would make it to the second round of the playoffs. Even then we played an amazing series against the Flyers, the bounces just didn't go our way. I'm so proud of those boys and it's amazing to know that it's only going to get better from here. Once Price and the other rookies have some more experience this team is going to be great. I'm looking forward to that more then anything. I'm not too worried about the offseason. A nice UFA would be great but I'm not too worried about losing anyone of great importance. Smokes was awesome this year even if he took some heat but it's time for Chipchura to come play for us. As much as I heckle the guy, Brisebois was great this year and it was nice to see him end his career in Montreal. I honestly couldn't care less where Ryder goes & I have a feeling we'll be re-signing Streit so I'm not too worried.
Last night was a lot of fun, losing aside. Jenn, Melissa & Laura came by for a girls night and we made pizza and blared Hedley and got pumped up for the game. It was a lot of fun until the third period when they scored the goal to make it 5-4 and then 6-4 on that empty netter. I think the basement was silent. There were tears. Not going to lie. Especially when the boys saluted the crowd and Carbo was clapping. After that we picture whored a bit and watched Juno and passed out. This morning we hung out for a few hours and then everyone left. I'm so excited for next season because I'll be spending it with those four. It's going to be great.
